Callus / Hard Skin
A callus is a larger, more diffuse area of thickened skin which can also cause pain.
The skin thickens in order to try and protect the area from friction and pressure, but once it becomes too thick it becomes painful. It usually forms on the soles of the feet, but can also occur on the tops of the toes. TreatmentsTreatment involves painless removal and sometimes deflective or comfort padding may be applied afterwards.
We provide advice on how to maintain and help prevent the re-occurrence of the callus and advise the use of foot files and emollients on a regular basis to help minimise the build-up. |
